Hi, I am Bryan Gustavson, the owner of R&J Electrical Contractors LLC. I’m proud to say that my roots are in this community; my early days were spent in New Fairfield, Ct. and then Sherman, Ct. I graduated from Immaculate High School in Danbury in 2005 and then attended Western Connecticut State University to study criminal justice, but I soon realized that my real interest and passion was in being an electrician.

My father started R&J Electrical Contractors when I was in high school, and, during that time, I would work for him during my summers off from school. I quickly gained experience and a love for electrical work. After two years at college, I decided to switch gears to pursue a career as an electrician and started working full-time at R&J. I spent five years working full time while going to school three nights a week to get my E2 journeyman electrical license, which I obtained in 2012. From there, I continued my career in the company, progressing over the next five years from being an apprentice to working up to journeyman status and then finally to foreman, running jobs, scheduling material deliveries, and managing workforce between multiple jobs. While working as a foreman, in 2015, I was also able to get my New York journeyman license.

During this time, I was working closely with my father, learning the management aspects of the business- estimating jobs, dealing with customers, and learning marketing. By 2017 I knew I had to further my career by taking the next step and getting my E1 Master Electrical License, the highest designation possible. I’m happy to say that in 2018, I passed the test for my E1. I continue to strive to better myself and the company, so some of my next steps will include getting my Master Electrical license in New York as well as my level 3 thermography certification. All this training means that I am continually looking to provide my customers with the highest quality service possible, utilizing leading-edge technology. My father handed his legacy to me, and I intend to build upon the foundation he created to provide the best possible electrical and thermographic services to my clients.
